Current roles
Truck Driver (Full time)
- We are currently seeking a competent and reliable driver to join our successful team.
- Our landscape centres are situated in Hume, Mitchell and Holt and operate 7 days per week.
- The position involves driving a rigid truck to deliver our products within the ACT and surrounding region, as well as other duties as required.
This role is primarily focused on:
- Operating our flat top truck to deliver bulka bags of material to building sites
- Driving rigid tippers as required
- Safe loading, unloading, and delivery of materials
- Professional interaction with customers and site personnel
About you:
- Current HR licence (essential) – Truck has a crash box transmission, so need to have no restrictions (Auto/Syncro will need to be upgraded)
- High Risk Forklift Licence preferred but not essential
- Forklift experience preferred; training can be provided
- Willingness to learn and upgrade skills (including Road Ranger gearbox training)
- Physically fit, reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic
- Good customer service and communication skills

Truck & Dog Driver (Full time, training provided)
Canberra Sand & Gravel operates landscape centres at Hume, Mitchell and Parkwood as well as a production facility in Fyshwick. We are seeking a competent driver to join our successful team.
The position potentially involves driving a variety of different types of Truck Combinations to deliver our products within the ACT and surrounding region. We are willing to train a driver in tipper operations if they have not had the appropriate experience.
- We are looking primarily for Truck and Dog drivers to deliver bulk products.
- You will be required to work 5 days per week with some half days Saturday if available.
- Our drivers are home every night and we do not do any night work. If you live near Bungendore or Braidwood (and driving a Truck and Dog), you can park the truck there to save driving into Canberra with your vehicle.
- We are looking for a driver who is fit and healthy, reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic. Good people skills when dealing with our customers is an important aspect of the role.
- You must have the appropriate Heavy Vehicle licence (HC/MC)

Landscape Yard Loader Operator (full time)
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Front End Loader Operator to join our Hume Landscape Centre team.
This is a hands-on role working in a busy landscape yard where customer service, safe operation and efficiency are highly valued.
About the Role
Your primary responsibility will be operating a front end loader to safely load customer and contractor vehicles with landscape and construction products.
- Operating a front end loader safely and efficiently
- Loading customer vehicles, trailers and contractor trucks
- Managing and maintaining product stockpiles
- Assisting customers with product selection and quantities
- General yard housekeeping and presentation
- Supporting the sales and yard team as required
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Front end loader operating experience

A current Australian driver’s licence

Strong awareness of workplace health and safety

Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work effectively in a busy outdoor environment
- A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
- Experience in landscape supplies, quarrying, civil construction, earthmoving or similar industries will be highly regarded but is not essential.
